Alick Osborne

Appointed Chief Executive Officer in May 2012.

Alick has 18 years experience in agricultural commodity markets, most recently as Managing Director of Louis Dreyfus Commodities Australia, based in Melbourne. He has worked in Australia, the USA and Canada, trading grains and oilseeds in domestic and export markets, and was locally responsible for Louis Dreyfus’s business development initiatives in the Australian grain, cotton and sugar sectors. He is a past President of the Australian Grain Exporters Association, and an arbitrator for Grain Trade Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics degree from the University of Sydney.

Alick is originally from regional NSW where he grew up near Cowra on a mixed wheat, sheep and cattle farm.

 

Nigel Salter

Company Secretary since July 2006.  He is a Certified Practicing Accountant and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.  He was previously a principal in a Cairns-based accounting practice, and also has experience in the timber milling, mining and retail sectors in North Queensland.

 

Barry Dun

Appointed Chief Operating Officer in August 2012.  Barry holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from James Cook University.  He was originally employed with our Company in 1998 as Shift Supervisor Chemical.  In 2003 he was appointed Assistant Chief Chemist and then Development Manager in 2007.

 

Johan Nicholson


Engineering Manager for Tully Sugar since May 2013, Johan holds Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Maintenance Management and is a member of Engineers Australia.  He has previous experience in timber mills, manufacturing and projects.

 

Peter Guernieri

Chief Electrical Engineer since July 2003 having held the same position at Proserpine Mill prior to coming to Tully.  He holds an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering and is a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia.

 

Lloyd Cripps

Chief Chemist since March 2003 having been employed with our Company since 1972 as Shift Chemist and Assistant Chief Chemist.  He holds a Certificate in Sugar Chemistry, and has over 46 years experience in the industry.

 

Les Lee

Manager of Civil Works since July 2012 having been employed with our Company since April 1996 as Assistant Cane Railway Officer and then Cane Railway Officer.  He has a background in railway construction and maintenance with Queensland Rail.

 

Gary Hivers

Gary was appointed as Human Resources Manager in October 2010.  He holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resources and Marketing, has completed a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources and is a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

 

Judith Mills

Jude joined the finance team as Corporate Accountant in October 2012.  She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree, and has CPA accreditation.  Jude has previous experience in the sugar industry, a chartered accounting practice, general engineering and timber milling and wholesale sectors.

 

Greg Shannon

Greg joined Tully Sugar Limited in 2012 after 15 years as an Extension-Agronomist with BSES based in North Queensland.  Greg's role is to assist Tully growers in all areas of Sugar Cane Production, from agronomic and farm planning assistance to pricing issues and communications.

Greg also provides a link to RD&E efforts for the Tully sugar industry.

 

Michael Coleman

Having studied Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the University of Adelaide and with ten years of experience in commercial computer programming, Michael was appointed to the staff of Tully Sugar in September 1989 as an Analyst/Programmer.  He has filled the senior role in the Company's Information Technology section since 1991.

 

Jeff Finlayson

Jeff was appointed Tully Sugar Limited Farm Manager in February 2008.  He oversees the operations of the Company’s farms with 1,650 hectares under sugar cane production with production capacity of 130,000 tonnes.  Jeff has been farming for 40 years in the Ingham and Kennedy areas and has owned his own farms in those areas since 1990.
